Katherine graduated from Cornell University, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial and Labor Relations. After serving as a Business Development volunteer with the Peace Corps in Paraguay, Katherine obtained her Juris Doctor with a Certificate in Civil Law, and a Certificate in International Law, from Loyola University New Orleans, College of Law, graduating at the top of her class.

Katherine is a seasoned litigator, having spent many years honing her skills litigating securities class actions, Federal workman's compensation suits, serving as an advocate on behalf of domestic violence victims and children, and litigating homeowners insurance cases, helping secure millions of dollars in settlements for injured homeowners. After being nominated by other litigators and judges, Katherine was certified as a Child Welfare Law Specialist by the National Association of Counsel for Children. In 2022, Katherine lost both of her parents, within a month of each other. That experience has taught her all about the importance and necessity of estate planning and how to help grieving families navigate the probate process, from the inside out, having now been through it herself. Katherine now utilizes that experience, in conjunction with her civil litigation skills, in our probate cases - helping our clients navigate the court system in transferring the assets of their loved ones who have passed away. 

When she is not in the office, Katherine is a busy dance mom and is usually preparing for or at a dance competition with her husband and daughter. She is fluent in Spanish and is of Colombian-American heritage. Given her expertise and experience in estate planning and probate, Katherine always enjoys the opportunity to help others protect their assets, navigate the legal system, and plan for the future.
